Scholarships Available

  • Professional Scholarships - for people attending professional training programs
  • Certification Scholarships - for people applying for the CPRP or CPRE certifications
  • Student Scholarships - for students majoring in a declared major and/or concentration in a recreation/parks field: Health and Human Performance, Recreation, Resource Management, Leisure Studies, Turf Management, Forestry or related majors.

Professional Scholarships

Certification Scholarships

The purpose of these scholarships is to assist individuals with the application fee to become certified.  The scholarships are made possible by generous donations from various agencies and individuals across the state of Tennessee.  Individuals are encouraged to apply for the scholarship if they meet the certification criteria. CPRP-CPRE

Student Scholarships!

The purpose of these scholarships is to assist students with their education by providing a monetary award.  The scholarships are made possible by generous donations from various agencies and individuals across the state of Tennessee.  Students are encouraged to apply for the scholarship if they meet the criteria. Please note the application link and deadlines listed below.

TRPEF Student Scholarship Criteria & Procedures

A.   Application Eligibility Requirements
1. Applicant must be classified as a rising junior or senior, enrolled as a full-time student in an accredited four-year institution or university within the State of Tennessee that has a curriculum in a recreation and/or park field.
2. Applicants must have a declared major and/or concentration in a recreation/parks field: Health and Human Performance, Recreation, Resource Management, Leisure Studies, Turf Management, or Forestry.
3.    The student must have a minimum 2.75 cumulative GPA with a minimum 3.0 major GPA in the recreation and/or parks major, verified by attached transcript.

B.  Selection Procedures
1. Shall be selected by a simple majority vote of the TRPEF Board of Directors.

C.  Supplementary Selection Criteria

  1. Statement of Occupational Interest and Goals
  2. Statement of why Scholarship is Desired
  3. Statement of Paid and Volunteer Work Experience within the Field.
  4. Statement of Professional Involvement in related Associations and Organizations
  5. Statement of Financial Need
  6. Transcript (does not need to be sealed)
  7. Two Letters of Recommendation

D.  Instructions

  1. Fill out application completely
  2. Each “STATEMENT” should be a brief paragraph
  3. Transcript/Proof of enrollment and grades may be supplied by the student.  It may be printed from the University’s Student portal.
  4. Letters of Recommendation- at least one should be from a faculty member in the student’s major.
